Soup making and bonfire fun!
What a fantastic day we had on Wednesday! As our reading treat, we had a go at making our very own vegetable soup! All of the children helped to cut and prepare the vegetables. We had a go at chopping potatoes, carrots, peppers and spring onions. It then went into a soup maker and produced the most delicious soup. In the afternoon we had to prepare and build a bonfire. We learnt all about fire safety and not to go too close. We then got to try our soup and Mrs Sweeney came to visit and to try some too. We then sang campfire songs and listened to a spooky story! Miss Walton played a prank on us and came back to the classroom with chocolate sauce all around her mouth! She told us she had eaten all the chocolate and that we did not have a bonfire treat! We were cross. But, Miss Patton reassured us that it was just a joke! We then enjoyed biscuits, marshmallows and chocolate around the bonfire. We pretended to toast the treats and enjoyed having a chat to our friends. The children were so engaged and made the day very fun!
P.E.
We have been learning all about balancing in P.E. this week. We practiced balancing the bean bags on different parts of our body. It was particularly hard to balance the bean bag on our foot whilst trying to move around the hall! It was great fun and the children demonstrated excellent resilience at trying over and over again!
Our First Day!
We have had a lovely first day in Sheep Class today. We learnt all our new routines and explored our new classroom. Today was all about settling in and getting to know each other. We loved exploring the different areas in the provision. We had our dinner in the hall and went on the big yard at lunch time to play. All of the children were so resilient and responsible today. We have been really impressed with how they have taken everything in their stride.
