Last week Year 2 completed their science work on materials by investigating road building inspired by the work of John McAdam. We made chocolate roads and added different ingredients to investigate which is the strongest. Once hardened, we tried a few different methods of testing until we settled on one that worked best. Our science work showed that chocolate and biscuit was strongest as it had the right mix of ingredient to chocolate. The chocolate acted like 'glue' to hold the mixture together. Afterwards, we ate the roads - John McAdam never did that!
