Today was World Book Day when thousands of children and adults across the world  dressed up as book characters. World Book Day is a big international event that started 24 years ago celebrating books, illustrators, authors and - of course - reading. It is the biggest celebration of its kind. 

At Stonebroom Primary & Nursery School the children took part in a carousel of literacy based activities in the morning. In the afternoon older classes paired up with the younger classes to ‘share a book.’ A great day was had by all.Every child has taken a £1 book token home which can be used at most retailers.
