F2 - Chinese New Year26 January 2020 (by Miss Gill (sheep)) |
Thank you Miss Walton for an excellent RE afternoon!
Sheep Class have really enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year this week. They talked about what Chinese New Year was and the ways it is celebrated. The children then took part in various craft activities throughout the afternoon. They made their own Chinese dragon, a paper lantern and decorated paper plates in red and gold to make a large class dragon. The children also looked at Chinese numerals and had a go at writing them in red glitter. The children's craft will be used to decorate our Chinese Restaurant role play area which opens next week!
At the end of the session the children also enjoyed trying on the dragon costume and dancing to some traditional Chinese music.
