Year 1- Paddington forest school session5 March 2019 (by Miss Rowland (elephants)) |
The Year 1's had a brilliant start to World book week yesterday, we took our learning about Paddington down to the forest! We had so much fun and our behaviour, teamwork skills and communication skills were amazing!
We made a gigantic Paddington out of natural materials, we had to work out how to split the parts and which objects would be most appropriate for each part. We counted out buttons for his coat and even made sure we made him a suitcase and jar of marmalade! We also made a train to take us to Paddington station. We had to lift and roll heavy logs, make enough seats for each passenger and make sure it had carriages. We did some brilliant role play, especially the train conductors! As well as these Paddington activities we got to feed the forest animals, practice our balancing skills on the balance beam, explore the new pond, have running races and even drink hot chocolate!
