Anti-Bullying Poster Campaign17 November 2023 (by admin) |
Congratulations to our anti-bullying poster campaign winners.
This week was anti– bullying week at Stonebroom. It is very important to teach children exactly what bullying is and how to deal with it. This year the theme was ‘Make A Noise About Bullying.’ What do we mean by bullying behaviour, how we can tell the difference between ‘banter’ and bullying and how we can make changes to reduce bullying. Together, we can make a difference if we make a noise to stop bullying.
During anti– bullying week, we teach the children that Bullying is the use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively dominate others. The behaviour is often repeated and habitual. It can happen anywhere (including on-line.) The children are taught what to do if they believe that they are being bullied and also that they have a duty to help others should they see bullying taking place.
We have a Learning Mentor (Mrs Attenborough) who is always available to listen, and an Anti-Bullying Governor (Mrs Nash) who keeps up to date with the latest anti-bullying procedures.
The winners of the anti-bullying poster campaign each won a certificate and a book. These posters are now displayed around school to remind our pupils that we are a ‘Telling’ school and that bullying is not acceptable anywhere or at any time. Links to extra photographs:
