We have had a fantastic afternoon in the forest! We spent some time on the animal park and were very excited to see baby chicks. We then went down to the woodland to learn about plants. We focused on five different wild plants- bluebells, dandelion, lesser celendine, grape hyacinth and nettles and learnt lots of facts about them. We made a fire and learnt how to stay safe in the fire circle. We then went off exploring and foraging for plants we can eat. We picked nettles, dandelions and watercress. When we returned we added these to fire bread. We heated up vegetable soup and enjoyed it with our bread. We had a super session- thank you to Miss Thompson and Laura for all their work.
