Reminder of the Symptoms of Scarlet Fever

9 December 2022 (by admin)

Follow the link to see full details of the symptoms of scarlet fever and what to do if you suspect your child might have scarlet fever.

Although the letter from UK Health has been sent to all parents via email, we need to ensure that all parents/carers have access to the details as to the symptoms of scarlet fever and what to do if you suspect your child has scarlet fever..

The early symptoms of scarlet fever include sore throat, headache, fever, nausea and vomiting. After 12 to 48 hours, the characteristic red, pinhead rash develops, typically first appearing on the chest and stomach, then rapidly spreading to other parts of the body, and giving the skin a sandpaper-like texture.

Call 111 or contact your GP if you suspect your child has scarlet fever.
