Year 2 - Local History Week17 June 2022 (by Mr Scott (meerkats)) |
This week we have been busy meerkat historians!
This week we have been studying the local history of Derbyshire. We found different locations on a map of Derbyshire and discovered their importance in history before plotting them on our timeline. We found out why the Village of Eyam is famous, how children felt about working in cotton mills and the impact Florence Nightingale had on nursing. We even had a go at paper weaving, just like they made cloth on noisy machines in the mills.
