Konnichiwa!

Our Japan Day in Year 2 was a lot of fun and we learnt lots about a very different country. We began with our own sumo wrestling in the hall and had great fun when we were asked to push each other around! (This never happens!)

We discovered that the Japanese love all things kawaii (cute) and decorated some ‘kawaii’ cookies. We also made sushi and found out that the Japanese diet is very healthy and it helps lots of people live to over 100! We tasted different Japanese snacks and had mixed reactions to some of them (sushi is an acquired taste!) but enjoyed trying noodles, rice snacks, Pocky sticks and Hello Panda.

Thank you to parents for the great effort in dressing up for the day. The pupils looked amazing and were ready to learn and engage 100% as soon as they walked into school. It was a super day and we look forward to the rest of our Japan lessons this term.
